Hi —thanks for taking a look

I'm an instructional designer and project manager, most recently leading a team of IDs updating laboratory training for a government agency. In my working life I've been a videographer, editor, LMS administrator, technical writer, and news producer. I have been working in media, web design, and training for...well, it's been a few years.

I have a Bachelors degree in Mass Communications and a Masters in Instructional Design. I've worked for nonprofits, an alphabet soup of federal agencies, and I've freelanced for private companies from 3M to the Washington Post.

Instructional Design

Curriculum Mapping

In recent years, much of my work has focused on planning and supporting training programs. Here are two applications of a tool I developed to visually communicate the details and sequencing of the client's existing resources that we combined to build training curricula.

eLearning

My course design experience includes traditional elearning courses, scenario interactions, micro-learns, and student-support resources.

Video

I have been a shooter and editor for many years.  Current go-to tools are DaVinci Resolve and Vegas. I use Premiere and Aftereffects from time to time, along with Clipchamp, Camtasia, and other products. Here are a few documentary and news-style productions I was responsible for.

'SHO-Case' interview

This is one of a series of interviews supporting a project to preserve the insights and experiences of state health officials.  I was the director, videographer, and editor. (ASTHO/Indiana University/deBeaumont)

'Public Health and Politics' (trailer)

I edited this from a short documentary I produced about the office of the Surgeon General.  (deBeaumont Foundation)

'Public Health and Politics' (full)

I cowrote and produced this short documentary to accompany a Public Health policy and ethics course at the deBeaumont Foundation. It received a HIIDA award.
